This page will house book summaries and notes about works in the areas of Multi-ethnic Literature, Girlhood Studies, Transnational Feminism, Cultural Studies, etc. as I work toward my exams (Jan 2014) and dissertation. My comprehensive exam lists focus on Long 20th Century Multi-ethnic American Literature (1890-2010) with a devised field in Transnational Feminism, in which I focus especially on portrayals of girlhood.
Some works will fit into more than one category, but for simplicity’s sake, I’m just going to put things in the most obvious place. (Please note: this is not my list. Eventually it will include the critical works on my list, but also there’s some books that are tangentially relevant.)

Hi Kasey,
I found your site while searching for more info about Rosaldo’s “Cultural Citizenship” piece. Your write up was great, and thanks for sharing your notes on so many texts! I’m creating my exams list now (sociocultural anthropology) and this was a great help. Good luck on your exams!
Amy
